Spring hiking in the mountains looks an awful lot like winter. I enjoyed watching this snowstorm roll over the mountain peaks, at least until the wind & snow caught up to me! πŸŒ…πŸ” Swipe ➑️ to see the full view
When just one ray of sunrise light hits the mountains... 🏜 β›°
I waited next to this spot for over an hour waiting for the setting sun to illuminate the clouds overhead. And it definitely was worth the wait! The salt flats of Death Valley truly are an otherworldly sight. 🏜
One of the sights I couldn’t wait to see in Death Valley was the salt flats along salt creek. I knew about Badwater Basin, but this area was a surprise after getting a recommendation to check out these cool salt pool formations. My third and final part of my trip to Death Valley is now live on YT, link in bio if you’d like to see how this evening and the next morning went in the salt flats! 🏜
Life on Mars? 🏜
Color spilling out of the mountainside in Death Valley 🏜 It was cool how all the colorful minerals in the rock wash down and are the building blocks of life on the valley floor. If you want to see the story behind this photo, part 2 of my trip to DV is on YT, link in bio if you want to check out the longer backstory πŸ‘ πŸš— 🏜
One of my favorite road trip finds in Death Valley 🏜 part 2 is now live on YT, link in bio if you want to check out the other finds πŸ‘ πŸš— 🏜
Golden hour in the desertπŸŒ΅πŸŒ…
One of my favorites (and last I will be sharing) from hiking in Death Valley’s sand dunes. Somehow, this lone leaf flew across miles of dunes and landed in the sand, creating an interference pattern behind it in the sand ripples. It reminded me a bit of the comet Neowise 🏜 πŸƒ πŸ’«
On my morning hike in the Death Valley sand dunes, the half moon overhead provided just enough light to see before dawn. I thought this slice of mud jutting out of the dunes was interesting because it perfectly matched the shape of the moon over it. Part 1 of 3 now on YT, check out the link in bio if you’d like to watch! 🏜 πŸŒ™
